About RecipeByElena

Hi, I’m Elena — the cook and recipe creator behind RecipeByElena, where I share easy, flavorful recipes that you can actually enjoy making at home. My goal is simple: help everyday home cooks feel more confident in the kitchen, whether you’re feeding a family, cooking for two, or just trying to make your own weeknights taste better.
What this site is (and who it’s for)
RecipeByElena is for people who want food that tastes homemade without turning dinner into a project. You’ll find recipes that are meant for real life: busy weekdays, cozy weekends, simple gatherings, and those “I need something good fast” moments. I focus on clear steps, familiar ingredients, and recipes that don’t ask you to buy a bunch of specialty items just to get a great result.
On the site, you’ll see everything from breakfast and lunch ideas to comforting dinners, desserts, and plenty of breads—the kind of recipes that make your kitchen smell amazing and make you feel proud of what you put on the table.
A little about me
I’m not a professional chef — I’m a home cook who learned by cooking the same dishes again and again until they worked consistently. Over time, I started paying attention to the small details that make a recipe dependable (timing, heat level, pan size, texture cues), and I built RecipeByElena because I wanted cooking to feel less stressful and more rewarding for other people, too.
And yes — you might see “Chef Elena” around the site. That’s mostly a nickname vibe. In my day-to-day life, I’m the person who’s constantly testing one more variation, taking notes, and asking, “How can I make this easier to follow without losing flavor?”
The kind of cooking memory that made this whole thing feel real
One of my favorite reminders of why I cook happened on a rainy Sunday morning when I wanted something warm and comforting, but not the usual cereal-or-toast routine. I pulled out roasted vermicelli and made Semiya Upma, and the kitchen filled up with the smell of toasted spices, curry leaves, and lemon. My kids immediately renamed it “noodle upma,” and it turned into one of those little family rituals I never planned—but never forgot.
That’s the feeling I try to capture here: recipes that fit real days, create real comfort, and become the ones you come back to.
How I develop recipes (so you can trust them)
I run this site seriously, and I care a lot about reliability. Here’s what happens behind the scenes:
I develop each recipe, test it in my own kitchen (often more than once), adjust measurements and timing until it’s consistent, and then photograph the finished dish myself so what you see matches what you can make. If a technique might be new, I add extra guidance so you’re not stuck halfway through.
That same approach is why I love recipes like my no-knead artisan bread—it’s the kind of thing that looks impressive, but is designed to be genuinely doable at home. The first time I made it was (also) on a rainy Sunday with a nearly empty pantry and a craving for something warm and hearty. It became one of those “make it once and you’ll keep making it” recipes in my kitchen.
What you’ll find on RecipeByElena
If you’re new here, a good way to explore is by category:
- Quick breakfasts and cozy morning recipes
- Lunches that are practical, filling, and not boring
- Weeknight dinners and comfort-food favorites
- Desserts for holidays and everyday cravings
- Breads (including fast options and beginner-friendly loaves)
I add new recipes regularly (not every day—because every recipe is tested and photographed), and I also go back to improve older posts when I can make the instructions clearer or the results even more dependable.
For advertisers, brands, and partners
RecipeByElena is built around helping readers cook with confidence, which means I’m careful about the content I publish and the experience I create on the site. I focus on clear writing, original recipe development, accurate visuals, and practical guidance—because that’s what keeps readers coming back and what makes brand placements feel natural and valuable.
If I work with a brand, it needs to make sense for my audience and for my kitchen. I aim for collaborations that support home cooks and fit the tone of the site—useful, realistic, and reader-first.
