Banana Bread

This easy banana bread recipe creates a moist, soft, and flavorful loaf made with ripe bananas and simple pantry ingredients. It’s a comforting homemade treat that works perfectly for breakfast, snacks, or sharing with loved ones. The one-bowl method makes cleanup easy and guarantees a deliciously tender texture every time.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until fully combined.
  4. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until evenly blended.
  5. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
  6. Add the flour and mix just until the flour disappears—do not overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor and moisture.
  • Fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, nuts, or blueberries for extra texture and taste.
  • Do not refrigerate banana bread; store it at room temperature or freeze for longer keeping.
  • Overmixing the batter can make the bread dense—stir only until ingredients are combined.
