Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Holiday sprinkles, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in both the white chocolate chips and semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Decorate with holiday sprinkles if desired.
  9. Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
  • Use flax eggs or egg replacer for an egg-free version.
  • Store baked cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze dough balls and bake from frozen, adding 2–3 minutes to bake time.
  • Optional add-ins: chopped nuts, dried cranberries, or peppermint extract.
