Creamy Christmas Peppermint Oreo Balls are no-bake holiday treats made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and peppermint candy canes, coated in rich chocolate for a perfect festive dessert. These bite-sized sweets are easy to make and ideal for gifting or serving at holiday parties.

Ingredients

  • 36 mint-flavored Oreo cookies (or regular Oreos with peppermint extract)
  • 4 to 6 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 8 ounces chocolate melting wafers (dark, milk, or white)
  • 6 crushed candy canes (reserve 1/4 cup for topping)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place candy canes in a blender or food processor and crush into small pieces; reserve 1/4 cup for topping.
  3. Add Oreos and remaining candy cane pieces to the blender; pulse until fine crumbs form.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese; blend until smooth and dough-like.
  5. Adjust texture with more cream cheese if dry or extra crumbs if too wet.
  6. Use a small cookie scoop to portion dough and roll into balls.
  7. Place on the lined baking sheet and freeze for 10–15 minutes until firm.
  8. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth.
  9. Dip each chilled ball into melted chocolate, tapping off excess, and place back on parchment paper.
  10. Sprinkle reserved crushed candy canes on top before the chocolate sets.
  11. Allow chocolate to harden at room temperature or refrigerate until set.
  12. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use vegan cream cheese or cashew cream.
  • Use gluten-free sandwich cookies for a gluten-free option.
  • Add a few drops of peppermint extract if using regular Oreos.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for a smoother, glossier coating.
  • Oreo balls can be stored up to one week in the fridge or two months in the freezer.
