Puff Pastry Christmas Pizza Bites are festive, tree-shaped mini pizzas made with flaky puff pastry, savory tomato sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese. They’re quick to prepare and perfect for holiday parties, kids’ snacks, or seasonal appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry rectangular sheet
  • 1/2 cup tomato passata
  • 1/2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • 1 mozzarella ball (or 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella)
  • Mini pepperoni (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Unroll the puff pastry onto a lined baking sheet.
  3. Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out tree shapes from the pastry.
  4. Remove excess dough and gently spread the cut-out trees to allow space between them.
  5. In a bowl, mix the tomato passata, olive oil, salt, and optional oregano to make the sauce.
  6. Spread a small amount of sauce on each tree-shaped pastry using a spoon.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and mini pepperoni if using.
  8. Bake in the lower rack of the oven for 15 minutes, or until puffed and golden.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Thaw puff pastry in the fridge overnight for best results.
  • Use pesto or Alfredo sauce as an alternative to tomato sauce.
  • Use crescent roll dough if puff pastry is unavailable.
  • Freeze assembled unbaked bites for up to 3 months; bake from frozen with 3–5 extra minutes.
