These Salted Caramel Apple Crumble Bars combine spiced apples, rich salted caramel, and a buttery crumble in a deliciously layered fall dessert. They’re easy to make, bake up beautifully golden, and bring all the cozy flavors of autumn into one bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the flour and stir until the mixture becomes crumbly, resembling coarse sand.
  4. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan to form the crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg.
  6. Spread the spiced apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Drizzle salted caramel sauce evenly over the apples.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  10. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Use a mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples for balanced tartness and sweetness.
  • Ensure the caramel sauce is pourable for even distribution.
  • Cool completely before cutting to prevent bars from falling apart.
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to one week or frozen for longer storage.
